The headline almost says it all. Blyth Spartans had an emphatic second half of the season and racked up an unprecedented and record breaking 117 points with 38 wins, 122 goals and a goal difference of +81.
The fans and board were more than happy with promotion.
Blyth Spartans also retained the FA Trophy with a hard fought victory at Wembley over Hayes & Yeading.
Some end of season stats - Blythe had six of the top ten in the highest average ratings, including the first four and Pierrick Chaintreuil top with an amazing average of 7.47.
Chaintreuil was also voted the supporter's Player of the Year and I won the Manager of the Year (finally after scandalously being shunned for the Blue Square North award last season).
In the end of season summary - Lionel Zoko was named one of the signings of the season and Blyth Spartans were described as over-achievers, however I believe the initial prediction of 22nd was unjust.
Finally I received good news as my contract has been renewed for another year (until July 2013) and Blyth Spartans, upon entering the football league, have turned professional. This is a landmark for the club, all the players and staff will need to sign full-time contracts and it will definitely be a catalyst for bringing better players to the club.
